MID-CENTURY REWIND
MID-CENTURY REWIND
Thoughtful design and attention to detail transformed this once cramped and outdated kitchen into a bright, open space perfect for cooking and entertaining.
With the homeowner’s love of entertaining in mind, Revival House's creative challenge in this remodel was to create a design with an open layout that bridged the gap between host and guest. To achieve this functional goal, the designer first removed the wall that separated the kitchen from the rest of the home and then designed a large island as the center point of the new design. With ample countertop space and seating, this island allows the homeowner to use the kitchen without missing conversation or nearby activities.
In addition to a new island with a wine refrigerator, this kitchen comes equipped with storage solutions for everything from dishes and spices to hard-to-fit trays. Touch-to-open cabinetry above the refrigerator and freezer make accessing stored items a breeze.
Another goal for the homeowners was for their new space to better reflect their personal style. Wynnbrooke cabinetry in a white oak coastal finish keeps this space bright, yet warm and inviting. The paneled French doors on the adjacent refrigerator and freezer blend perfectly with the surrounding cabinetry and create a continuous flow for the eye. The whimsical backsplash and warm brown tones pull the space together creating an aesthetic that is the perfect balance of on-trend and timeless.
